Dear J-
I do some things on the road that seem like great ideas at the time and then in retrospect seem completely stupid. Take for instance tonight: let’s walk up the side of the mountain. Why not? Well, there’s the warnings not to approach wild boars for one (see, you don’t know what you don’t know) but more importantly, who knows where I’m going but me, and if I should happen to slip or turn an ankle while away from the hotel, who’s going to know where to find me?
I like these lonely places with an unhealthy fascination, I think; sooner or later that’s going to come back to bite me. But for now I’m still relatively young and interested in finding fascinating places around here, so I’m a moth to the flame, what can I say? These are places and things I’ve only experienced from afar or through a video game, and seeing it brought to life is amazing enough, I guess, but I keep wanting to see more every night I can.
Mike
